Career Internship

Credit:  0.5 CTE elective credit

Tuition:  $195

Grades offered:  11 - 12

Session:  The student has all of Summer School to earn the 60 hours required for 0.5 elective credit.  More information  will be shared at the Parent Meeting.

Availability and Placement:  Available D127 approved internship opportunities may change by the semester due to community availability.  All internships are competitive and subject to student approval and placement through our Community and Career Partnership team.

Transportation:  All internships take place at the provider location.  Students are responsible for transportation to and from their site location.

Field Experiences (60 hours):  Each internship will have weekly hours specific to the internship provider and approved by D127.  Your D127 internship coordinator will facilitate placement and weekly reviews to ensure learning targets are being achieved.  Additionally, at the end of each day students will be responsible for online reflection and guided-question posts required for the course credit.

Description:  During this one semester, experiential learning course, students will spend the semester expanding their skills and interest throughout a hands-on internship.  The internship experience is designed to give students at least 60 hours of on-site learning, expanding their exposure and skill set related to their career pathway.

Parent Meeting: A parent meeting will be held to provide students and parents with follow-up information.  More details to come.
